Sun, rain, sleet, snow and ice are the forces of nature that can turn our increasingly crowded roadways from smooth to rough and tumble. How to stop the shake, rattle and roll created by a bumper crop of potholes every year?
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) can help you steer clear of these hazards with its year-round, toll-free hot line at 1.800.POTHOLE (1.800.768.4653) to report potholes on the state's highway systems, including the Thruway. The line is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
All calls will be routed to the appropriate NYSDOT region or Thruway personnel for action.
For more information, please see our brochure on this hot line service, including information on how a pothole erupts (text-only version ).
